Urging people to follow additional restrictions and guidelines issued by the State Government last night to control the further spread of COVID-19, the Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal on Saturday said that violators of these guidelines would not be spared. He said that those found disobeying the said measures would have to face legal action.  

The SSP Mahal informed that the police was making all out efforts to sensitize people against COVID-19 as well as keeping them updated regarding the latest instructions being issued by the State Government for containing corona virus. Mahal said that as many as 15 cases had been registered with arrest of 22 persons in violation of additional restrictions including night and weekend curfew etc. He appealed the people to come out from their homes only in emergency or inevitable circumstances and when they were leaving their places they should have to strictly follow the health safety protocols including proper wearing of masks, especially maintaining social distancing  in larger interest of society.  

The SSP also stated that the District police had divided the Hoshiarpur city in 10 sectors and each sector was being supervised by a Deputy Superintendent of Police officer. He said that as many as over 200 police officials and 6 DSPs conducted flag marches in different places of the district including Tanda by DSP Daljit Singh Khakh, Dasuya DSP Anil Bhanot, Mukerian DSP Ravinder Singh, Hoshiarpur DSP Davinder Singh Sandhu, Hoshiarpur city DSP Manish Kumar and DSP Satish Kumar at Garhshankar. Mahal said that the night curfew would be imposed throughout the week between 7 pm and 5 am in the district and the non-essential movement during this period would be prohibited.
