CM dedicates developmental projects worth Rs. 70.33 crore for Kasumpti Vidhan Sabha area

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today dedicated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 70.33 crore for Kasumpati Vidhan Sabha area in District Shimla.

He inaugurated newly constructed bridge over Ashwani khad constructed at a cost of Rs. 4.43 crore and building of Assistant Engineer office-cum-residence at Junga constructed at a cost of Rs. 79 lakh. He inaugurated Science laboratory of Government Senior Secondary School Junga completed with an expenditure of Rs. 2.73 crore and voice analysis laboratory of forensic services completed with the cost of Rs. 87 lakh. .


Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Koti Junga Road via Badhwani to be constructed at cost of Rs. 10.92 crore, Old Junga to Bhrandi road to be constructed with Rs. 1.71 crore and metalling of HP PWD road from Ever Sunny to Bhont via Golcha to be completed with an expenditure of Rs. 4.15 crore. He laid foundation stone of upgradation and metalling/tarring of Chari to Neri road via Kiar Koti to be completed with Rs. 3.33 crore and upgradation and metalling/tarring of Tipra to Jagroti road to cost Rs. 4.25 crore. He also performed foundation stone laying ceremony of construction of residential quarters of Directorate of Forensics Services at Junga to be completed with an outlay of Rs. 1.24 crore.

Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated newly constructed building of Government Senior Secondary School at Tehsil Durgapur with an amount of Rs. 92.18 lakh and accommodation of Government Senior Secondary School building at Bhont completed with an expenditure of Rs. 15 lakh. He also inaugurated Lift Irrigation Scheme to village Piran of Gram Panchayat Piran completed with Rs. 92 lakh.


He laid foundation stones of Lift Water Supply Scheme from Bag Nallah which would benefit various hamlets of village Pagog, Parechi, Shanan, Badash, Bukhar, Moti Bag villages and adjoining villages in Gram Panchayat Pagog of Tehsil Shimla to be completed with an expenditure of Rs. 1.59 crore. He laid foundation stones of Multi Villages Rural Piped Water Supply Scheme for various P.C. habitations under Mashobra Block in Tehsil Shimla to be completed with an expenditure of Rs. 3.90 crore and Lift Water Supply Scheme from Giri khad to various Gram Panchayats under Jal Shakti Sub Division Koti Tehsil Shimla under Jal Jeevan Mission to be completed at a cost of Rs. 25.56 crore.


He also laid foundation stone of Water Supply Scheme to left out PC habitation in Mashobra Block in Gram Panchayat Bhont, Dummi, Chairy and Dhalli of Tehsil Shimla of Rs. 2.33 crore and Lift Irrigation Scheme Lakhoti to Rahud and its adjoining villages from Giri Khad to be completed with an amount of Rs. 54 lakh.
While addressing the public meeting at Junga, the Chief Minister said that projects worth Rs. 195 crore of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, NABARD, etc have been implemented by Public Works Department in the area.


He said that the State Government is committed towards development of remote areas of the state. He said that it was his 3rd visit to Kasumpati Assembly Constituency since formation of the government. He said that seven inaugurations and 11 foundation stones of various developmental projects were done by him of worth Rs. 70.33 crore.

Chief Minister said the State Government launched Jan Manch to redress the grievances of the people at their doorsteps, through which 45 thousand complaints have been redressed. With the same objective of public grievances redressal, CM Helpline-1100 has also been started by State Government and over one lakh complaints have been redressed through it. He said that in very first cabinet meeting of the present State Government lowered the age limit for availing the benefits of old age pension without any income limit from 80 years to 70 years. He said that this decision has benefitted about 2.90 lakh old people of the State.


Jai Ram Thakur said that under the HIMCARE scheme as many as 1.11 lakh people of the State have been benefitted till date. He said that under Sahara Yojna Rs 3000 per month was being provided to the families with chronic ill patients. He said that Ujjawala Yojna of Central Government and Grihini Suvidha Yojna of the State Government had ensured a Smoke Free Himachal. He said that as many as 2.80 lakh gas connections were provided in the State under the Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojna.
Chief Minister also announced rupees one crore for completion of Science lab of Government Senior Secondary School Koti.


Chief Minister was presented with cap and memento by Commandant 1st HP Armed Police Battalion Anjum Ara on the occasion.
Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that the State Government is determined to develop the urban and rural areas of the State. He said that with this objective the State Government has decided to upgrade three Municipal Councils of Solan, Mandi and Palampur into Municipal Corporation and create six Nagar Panchayats in Chirgaon and Nerwa in Shimla, Nirmand and Anni in Kullu, Amb in Una and Kandaghat in Solan district.
He said that the inaugurations and foundation stones laid by the Chief Minister reflect the commitment of the State Government to develop the area.


MP Shimla and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating and laying foundation stones of various developmental projects in Kasumpati Assembly Constituency. He thanked the CM for ensuring that the pace of development does not get affected in the state in the period of Coronavirus and virtually dedicating the developmental projects for the state during COVID-19.
Vice Chairperson Saksham Gudiya Board Roopa Sharma also spoke on the occasion.

Local BJP representative Vijya Jyoti Sen welcomed the Chief Minister and presented various demands of the area and BJP Mandal President Jitender Mokta also welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.
Chairman APMC Shimla-Kinnaur Naresh Sharma, former Member of Parliament Virender Kashyap, former MLA R.D. Kashyap, Deputy Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Shailendra, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi, Superintendent of Police Mohit Chawla and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
