Over 13K get employment: DC Hamirpur

-Entrepreneurs of Hamirpur district are being benefitted from the relaxation given during lockdown-4 clamped due to Covid-19. Beginning of work in various rural and cottage industries have benefitted over 2.5K people.
District Administration has ensured smooth functioning of various schemes through Industries Department. This department has been helping entrepreneurs to get them benefitted from many schemes including Mukhyamantri Swawlamban Yojana. Online applications have been invited from the beneficiaries and applicants are being counseled on phone.
Except containment zones in the district, a total of 1,144 construction activities have been started at various places under rural and cottage industries. It has given employment to 2,294 people. As many as 26 industrial units have given employment to 234 people.
General Manager, District Industries tells that observance of all precautions is being ensured in these units to control the threat of Covid-19. Regular checks are being conducted by departmental officers to maintain smooth activities in these units. Regular health check-ups and proper staying arrangements of migrant laborers, and releasing of their salary on time are other issues being monitored. Proper social distancing of two meters, wearing of masks, use of sanitizers and personal hygiene are also being ensured.
Deputy Commissioner Harikesh Meena has said that by April 20 a total of 11,546 people have got MNREGA jobs under various activities in the district. As many as 7,615 persons have got jobs near their homes under 1,294 works. Public Works Department has given employment to 580 laborers in ongoing 56 road projects. Construction of eight bridges and 25 buildings has provided jobs to 348 persons.
