Kangra has 35 Corona Positive Active Cases

Kangra district has 35 Corona positive active cases at present. There have been 49 Corona positive cases in the district so far. Out of these 13 have recovered and sent to their homes. Only one person died because of Covid-19 in the district. All 35 cases are under treatment at DCCC, Baijanth and Tanda Medical College.
The District Administration under the guidance of State Govt. is making all arrangements to deal with this pandemic. Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati told that around 80,000 people had been provided ration in the district. These included about 50,000 migrant laborers. Around 15,000 persons of other states, stuck due to countrywide lockdown in Kangra, have been sent back to their native places. These included 5,295 people from Punjab and 4,111 from Jammu and Kashmir. He told that as many as 52,000 persons who got back to Kangra from outside states had been kept under home quarantine in addition to 1,000 people in different institutional quarantine centers. Borders of Kangra district have been sealed while panchayats with active cases have been declared red zone.
All people coming to the Kangra are being thermally screened at different barriers. Rakesh Prajapati told that developmental works had been started after relaxation in curfew and lockdown. A total of 9,548 people have got employment after starting of MNREGA works. Officials of administration, police, health and other departments including volunteers of NGOs and independents have been working dedicatedly day and night putting their life in danger.
Deputy Commissioner told that safety was the most potent weapon against Covid-19 as at present there had been no vaccine. Cough, fever, cold, shortness in breath are some of the symptoms of Covid-19. One should wear mask, frequently and thoroughly washing of hands, use of sanitizers and social distancing are some of the precautions to contain its threat.
