HOSHIARPUR POLICE RECOVERS Rs. 31,68,950 CASH DURING CHECKING IN BUS- NAVJOT SINGH MAHAL

The Dasuya police have recovered a cash money of Rs 31, 68,950 lakh from  a passenger travelling in Jalandhar bound Punbus from Pathankot.

Disclosing the details, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Navjot Singh Mahal said that Dasuya police led by DSP Anil Kumar Bhanot was carrying out physical checking of the vehicles on tip-off during which they seized the said amount.

Mahal said that during checking, police party frisked a passenger Sukhwinder resident of Ward-35 Pathankot and seized the cash worth Rs 31,68,950 Indian currency from the bag, he was holding.

Mahal said that the money was kept into custody of police. As per preliminary investigation, Sukhwinder told that he was working as a helper in jewellery shop at Pathankot and was going to Jalandhar but he failed to furnish any valid document regarding cash carried by him.

SSP said that the police had called officials of Income tax department who started investigation to get into bottom of the case.
