In its continuous series of Rozgar Melas under Ghar Ghar Rozgar Scheme of State Government, the District Administration on Thursday secured placements for 193 candidates in healthcare sectors including doctors, staff nurses, lab technicians, ward attendants etc in renowned hospitals of Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur districts.
More than 300 candidates were appeared for on the spot placement, at local District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, in medical and para-medical sectors of which three doctors, 150 staff nurses and 40 Lab Technicians/ward attendants/Ambulance drivers/Sweepers/Drivers/Computer Operators got placed with handsome salary packages offered by the Hospitals.
The Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait personally handed over appointment letter to some of the selected candidates, who thanked the State Government and District Administration to provide a one stop platform for jobs as per their education and field.
Giving details of this 3rd exclusive employment fair of healthcare sector, the Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said that 19 hospitals were selected the candidates of their choice as aspirants were in full enthusiasm to opt for jobs in said hospitals. She said that the District Administration would also organise a 4th edition of this healthcare sector mega job fair shortly for the recruitment of doctors, staff nurses and other paramedical staff etc.
Riyait also expressed gratitude to the Indian Medical Association and its President Dr. Harish Bassi for their support and cooperation to make this event a great success. She said that this job fair under Ghar Ghar Rozgar was held in association with the IMA.
While interacting with the candidates at job fair, the Deputy Commissioner appealed the eligible candidates to take maximum advantage of this endeavour of District Administration as there was a huge demand of candidates, which would be selected after conducting interviews by the recruiting hospitals. She said that the nurses were highly qualified with GNM, B. Sc and M.Sc nursing degrees.
The Deputy Commissioner also lauded the efforts of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises especially the District Employment Officer Karam Singh, Placement Officer Mangesh Sood, Career Counsellor Aditya Rana and their entire team for ensuring jobs to the unemployed youngsters especially amid COVID restrictions.
Major recruiting hospitals that took part in the placement namely Hospitals IVY, Shivam, RRM Central, Aman Hospital, Universal Hospital and Trauma Centre, JJ Children Hospital, Ravindra Nursing Home, Narad Hospital, Gulati Hospital, Capitol Hospital Jalandhar, Patel Hospital, Sarvodaya Hospital, NHS, Johal Hospital, Tagore Hospital, Oxford Hospital, Vassal Hospital and Altis Hospital Jalandhar.
Pertinently, as many as 52 staff nurses were got placed by the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises in the first and second edition of Job Mela of healthcare sector few days ago.
