Journalists put up 120 saplings, pledge to protect environment

On the call of National Union of Journalists Himachal unit, Hamirpur district unit organized plantation program in various sub division’s. District President Pankaj Bhartiya told that the main event was held at the district headquarters in which DFO Hamirpur LC Vandana was the chief guest. District Consumer Court Member Sushil Sharma and President of Press Club Hamirpur, Dinesh Kanwar were special guests on this occasion.
Journalists of Hamirpur city, including Anil Sharma, Manglesh, Surender, Vijay, Usha Chauhan, planted a variety of medicinal and fruitful plants in the forest near Bal Vatika in Hira Nagar.
SDM Vijay Kumar started the program by planting saplings in the Nadaun sub-division. BDO Aparajita Chandel, President of Press Club Nadaun, Pradeep Sharma, President of NUJ Nadaun Unit, Nishpaksh Bharti and all their associates were present on the occasion.
City Council President Ashok Mehra and President of the Board of Trade Shailendra Gupta planted saplings at the event held in Sujanpur. Rakesh Katoch President, Sanjeev Walia General Secretary, Surjit Senior Vice President, Anoop Pawari Treasurer, Anoop members were also present on the occasion.
The event was held at Bursar under the leadership of NUJ Coordinator Sanjay Goswami in Bijri which was attended by journalists. The program was organized in collaboration with coordinator Vijay Thakur at Bhoranj also. Senior journalists Kapil Bassi and Rajiv Chauhan were also planted in Tonidevi.
Journalists in the district pledged to conserve the environment by planting 120 different types of plants on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day.
